Nancy Ann Coyne's "Speaking of Home" Fabric Installation

Nancy Ann Coyne created "Speaking of Home," a site-specific, digitally printed fabric installation for a skyway bridge in Minneapolis, which depicts the lives of 23 immigrants.  The fabric is Fisher Textiles GF4853 and the printing was done by Portland Color.  Original story reported in Fabric Architecture.  Photos by George Heinrich.

The Imprinted Sportswear Show 2009, Long Beach, CA

The Imprinted Sportswear Show takes place every January at the Long Beach Convention Center.  This show focuses on the Decorated Apparel industry and supplies the trade with apparel "blanks" and machinery and other products to apply design, including screen printing, embroidery, heat transfer printing and sublimation.  For photos of the area, click here.

"Guten Tag" from Heimtextil, Frankfurt, Germany

Your blogger, Karin Miller, in the Trend forum at Heimtextil, 2009.  This is the premier international trade show where thousands of global suppliers of home textiles show their products for the floor, wall, window, bed, beach, furniture, kitchen, tabletop and wall.

I have been attending this trade show since 1990.  Heimtextil takes place each January in Frankfurt, Germany.  Six key themes were identified in “Expect the Unexpected”, the official trend presentation, associated with the show.   Below are photos of the venue, Messe Frankfurt, and the displays which are varied and often extravegant:
